Charmaine Parenteau

Charmaine Parenteau (she/her) is a proud Metis woman, raised in Treaty 6 Saskatchewan. With a background in Criminology and certifications in Corporate Negotiation, Mediation, and Trauma Prevention, Charmaine’s career has spanned over 20 years in law enforcement. She started with the Blood Tribe Police Service on the Kainai First Nation and later joined the RCMP. Currently a Sergeant based in Ottawa, Charmaine is a member of the RCMP’s National Crisis Negotiation Team and Family Liaison Group, which assists in international hostage negotiations. Beyond her policing career, Charmaine is a certified yoga teacher, blending Indigenous wisdom and practices into her teachings to support healing and mindfulness.
